I prefer a good projo and screen instead

+1!!! I fully agree Ed!

I saw the Panny & it looked so pixelated & grainy - plus washed out color.

I'd prefer to go with a nice Projo & Screen anytime.

Take the extra $$$ you save & put that into a killer audio set-up.

+1 for the projector and if you really want to wow him go Anamorphic if you have room for the wider screen.
I guarantee I'll tell you the truth and I guarantee I'll tell you what you need to know but I can't guarantee that I'll be telling you anything you want to hear.

I am assuming everyone that reccomends a projector also assumes that viewing in the room is done in almost complete darkness? Or maybe they have in mind an expensive rear projection setup? This is where the big plasma has a huge advantage - it can give a good picture at any light conditions and this is extremenly important in non dedicated theater applications.

Might be able to incorporate some black-out shades into the deal, if there are a lot of windows.

No, havent done a big rear projection (projector with "floated" mirror in ages).

This is where the big plasma has a huge advantage -

Yeah but... the picture quality & glare are cons, not to mention installation hassles and power consumtion, heat etc.

"Good" is subjective. You should have your client see one first. If they tend to lean towards the HD picture quality of a smaller screen, they could be unhappy with the bigger guy...

I was think starglass rear projection screen, and DPI projector, great for ambient light, still far less , but does require a room behind, but DPI has a pretty slick projector they showed at CEdia last year that was like 1.5 feet from the screen if they actually make it (hope to see it again this year with improvements)

I rarely see an instance to install a 100+ in flat panel, but would like to sell a few =).. I can rarely tell my customer they shouldn't give me money for toys!

Why get the 103" when you can go for the 152"

I did a search for the mount for this monster and I found them for sale on line at a couple of places for around $23,000.00 (FOR THE MOUNT!)

Oh well, in that case, go with a Sim2 and a nice big Joe Kane Dalite screen!

they are the shit! you are going from nice accord or camry (nothing wrong with either) to a lamborghini. and with the native 2.35, a badass customized lambo at that. DPI is headquartered in your backyard. give them a call.
