most people on android understand these issues already and are more than willing to go along with the best that can be done for now until this is all sorted out on android (which they are doing a much better job starting at 3.2). |

You must deal with an entirely different class of consumer than I do then. I don't have a single customer that would a) accept this issue, or b) even understand what the issue is. I would bet that a very great majority of the Android using public would get a glazed over look as soon as you started talking about resolution this and that phone does this but that phone does it differently and that tablet does one thing etc etc etc.

To quote you, "most people on Android" don't understand even a tiny bit of what is being discussed here, nor could care one way or another. I think you are being a bit (and by a bit I mean an enormously huge, gigantic bit) generous regarding the technical sophistication of the average "smart" phone user.

and i have yet to run into a customer who hasn't run into this issue on just about every other app they have. it comes with having an android phone. there is nothing to glaze over on when an app doesn't look right on the screen. as soon as the problem hits you there is no real denying it. if you want i can send a bunch of google searches on the issue into the post. it is common place for this issue on android and will be dealt with more properly starting with 3.2 on.

XP3 was released today! I haven't checked disty stock but that's pretty exciting. Truthfully, the XP6 price points are low enough that I'm not sure how many of these I will sell.

Oh that is very good news. I'm surprised that the XP3 still isn't on the RTI site. If you switch over to mostly IP controllable product then the XP3 should be all you need.
Who says you can't put 61" plasmas up on cantilever mounts using toggle bolts? <---Thanks Ernie ;)

What I find crazy is that there is no talk of updating the XP8. The XP6 and XP3 has twice the speed and 4X the flash memory for large files. But I guess that's RTI for you.

Drew, I'm under the impression that RTI had to order a minimum quantity of the main processing chip, don't know how many, say 100,000 and until they have manufactured that many XP-8 processors they're stuck with them and can't (don't want) afford to take the loss.
That being said, I can't wait to see an updated version myself!
