I've seen the RTiPanel, and i believe it will change the game. XP-6 is incredible, and i hope XP3 is the same.
Excited!

the 'pending apple approval' can take months sometimes. i know i have been through it myself a couple of times. if they are trying to do the app on cellular it becomes more complicated to pass. hopefully they won't have to jump through any hoops. rejections can be cryptic at best many times with no way to contact them (other than email which takes days or weeks to answer many times) to explain. This is pretty exciting for RTI. This is why people poke fun.[Link: rticorp.com]"RTI Adds Apple® Integration Via RTiPanel App for iPhone®, iPod touch®, and iPad® SHAKOPEE, Minn. - June 30, 2010 - At InfoComm 2010"

I personally think the RTI Panel, hybrid controllers and addressing the issues with the bad remotes was a great year for the company. I would rather have an app that works than a buggy one that doesnt any eay.

the 'pending apple approval' can take months sometimes. While I was not going to burst your bubble with the 'two weeks' comment, 'pending apple approval' seems much much worse. What manufacturer has been worse at puffing itself up and keeping others from playing? And if the app does to my phone what iTunes does to my laptop, I don't want it. EVER. And to sell to a client? What suicide that would be!

Thought of this as more of a stepping stone than a viable offering. I've been salivating over Crestron and Savant this past year, and got downright pissy when Control4 beat RTI to the punch. For the past 2 years I've felt the iPad was not a good alternative to a dedicated controller with hard keys for repetitive control (vol, ch, etc). However, introduce Sonos, RA2, airplay, and DVR control and its impossible to deny the lack of system control stinks.

I'll second about the app store approval. That doesn't mean anything. We could still be talking about this in November.

It could be awhile but at least I can start building a template. Things are moving along.
They also included the XP3 in the ID8.2 so that could be a good thing.
Plus they reduced the retail price of their brick (I mean T4) to $1500.

What will the XP3 run retail?
The pending Apple deal with Crestron's mobile where the file is stored on the iPad took FOREVER.

This is the biggest [email protected]#t RTI does. There seems to be no leader or communication between their people and between their dealers. We were told the XP6 would be $799 now it's $599 and the iPad app was a different price then it turned out to be. They said the ST7 is being delayed because of retooling which you know is a crock of s#$t. I'm not complaining about the prices but more about their business practices. Where's Pro Control? It's like there is a lot of people running around with their heads cut off over it's very strange. I do like their remotes though.

In their defense, the remote control business is in the crapper and they probably don't have the income to do everything they have promised. It's a nasty problem but their not in a position to publicly announce their internal issues. Moreover, the remote business is a moving target that requires constant innovation. This innovation and keeping up isn't easy for a small firm. (Or large one's either)
