Ultraviolet, the cloud movie format championed by nigh-on all of the major studios, is "very close" to making its consumer bow. It will undoubtedly be of massive benefit to film fans as it will offer cloud-stored versions of a movie they have bought on Blu-ray for streaming to multiple devices whenever they want. And, even better, the license to do so will be included in the price of the initial disc.

Is this a 'solution' for piracy? Give the end user the digital copy he wants but it stays in the cloud? This will suck when service providers start taxing us for bandwidth everytime we want to watch a movie.

That is certainly a possibility.

Keeping things in the cloud, not in our possession or in the memory of our computer, is a guaranteed way to ensure just one more way to ding us another five or ten dollars per download, per hour, per month, whatever.

Beware the ten dollar per month charge! When millions of people go for it because it's "cheap," we get used to having "small" amounts of our income eaten away, bit by bit. Pun intended.

I don't like this. Period. On a similar note, I had some bad Mexican food yesterday, and experienced my own Ultraviolet cloud. Nobody liked that, either.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
