Anyone using this to accept credit cards?
https://squareup.com/
Looks like an easy way to accept credit cards immediately. No bank necessary.
Next day deposits in your account, 2.75% fee per swipe.
Is this a good deal compared to the traditional way of accepting credit cards?
I'm eager to gain new customers that may prefer to pay by credit card.
He takes credit cards, Great!

Any thoughts?

I've got a friend who is a professional photographer in Dallas.  That's how he accepts payment and is perfectly happy with it.  As far as cost?  2.75 or prettty close to that is what QB is charging me and it takes at least 2 days to hit my account.

So sounds like a nice little system.

What size charges have you had go thru successfully?
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

I decided to give it a try since nobody said it sucked.
I'll start advertising credit cards accepted and see if it makes any difference.
Seems like a no brainer.
Thanks for the input.

i was at Artscape http://www.artscape.org/ in Baltimore this weekend and any booth that used electronic card reading had these. probably saw about 30 of them in total so sounds like they are well received. only saw them on iphones though.

I've been using the Intuit GoPayment for a few months, now. $13 a month and 1.7% per swipe. The customer just sings my iphone with their finger or a stylus and the money is in my account in 2 days. The gave me the card swiper for free during a promotion. There is no limit on transaction amounts and you can even set up items for your sales ticket, which saves some time. The customer then receives a copy of the receipt, with your logo on it, by email within a minute or 2 after the charge is approved. It's slick and it works.
