I decided to go with Elan over Crestron and Control4

I did this because Crestron was above my learning curve (time i have to invest in learning it) and i would of had to go through AVAD to get it and haven't had much luck with AVAD in the past..

Control4... Well when they 1st got started.. Worked for Tweeter... anyway.. Went out to Utah, blah, blah, blah, came back and we decided it was garbage, HOWEVER- this was 6 or so years ago..so maybe it has matured..?? When i called them the rep in the area was a total ass, acted like I was stupid for even considering another (ANY other) control company, so that ended that real quick...

I chose Elan for 2 reasons, 1 - i got it direct and my rep is awesome and 2 - I was already familiar with the VIA line ( i know g is totally different)

So with all that aside, asking the people that have experience with the products above to give me some serious pros and cons..

Crestron all the way because the other guys suck :).

They all their have their merrits, I am an Elan dealer, but never did much with it because I didn't care for all of the parts and I didn't like the dated look of Via Tools. I looked into Home Logic when it came through, but the $3,000 brick made an entry level system over priced. So by the time G came around I was already in with Crestron.

I signed up Direct as a Prodigy dealer, then went full line. Control4 is a very capable system, good pricing, it works fine, but between C4 and prodigy, I chose Prodigy, and the benifit of DM, QM, Sonnex, Procise etc.... make Crestron a no brainer for me. Now its just the act of actually selling it that I need to work on.
Hey, careful man, there's a beverage here!

The g stuff ooks cool. I am a full Crestron dealer and I started with Prodigy. I do wish I could master the programming side but.I'll leave that to the pros.

As a small shop I cannot do everything. Just master your system and you'll be fine. I think fins is pretty happy with it so far. Deck your house with your demo system and get it 100%. Then sell it.
