After a consult last night I met up with a couple friends in the business since I was on their end of town. We met at a renamed pool hall that I hadn't been in 10 years or better. The place was way nicer than I had remembered and had grown a lot. There was even live music; a one-man acoustical jam.

Eventually we grabbed a table and played pool for a few hours. The table next to us had a group of 3-4 guys playing too. Of course there was plenty of shop talk going on, Samsung, Panasonic, plasma, led, customer gripes etc. One of the guys next to us heard something at our table and asked us what we did or if we needed a projector (I cant quite remember the phrasing). We said 'no, that's what we', (design to demo, right?) So my buddy heads up to him and gets a bunch of cards out and says 'what brands do you sell?' Van guy says 'DLP, LCD', no brands. He declines my friends business cards about three times and says he wont hand them out. I asked the other Van Guy where/how they get their stuff and he said 'over the phone, it just shows up'. They go out to smoke, end of conversation for the night.

I was giggling the rest of the night, didnt get to see a vehicle or product, but I knew....

White van guys gone hi tech, huh? "Sir we were delivering these projectors to TGI Friday's and the office sent too many..."

The white van guys and the auto body guys are in all the parking lots around here lately. I always haggle with the white van guys. "if they are extra they are pure profit so you can sell them for half that and still make money".

The autobody guys are usually 2 or more drug addicts who chase down soccer moms with dents or scuffs in their paint and offer them an unbelievable deal!

"i can fix that for you in 5 minutes for $50"

Then they break out some sand paper or newspaper or whatever and jack up your car and then they transform from mr helpful to mr "bitch betta have my money".
