We have a customer that has upgraded from the Echostar 9200 to the Echostar 9241. From my understanding the codes should be the same so they don't have two different remotes in the house.

They are saying that the 9241 isn't responding to any commands being sent using 9200 codes.

We are controlling the system through Crestron and No I haven't been on site to learn the 9241 codes to compare with the 9200 codes.

Can anyone confirm or deny my assumptions that they have not changed the codes from one box to another.

I don't know exactly what have changed, but they changed something. Look the back of the 9241's remote, it should be a uhf PRO. The one for the 9200 says only uhf... I guess the frequencies are not the same. I had to deal with a couple of issues with those new remotes...

On top of that, i have a lot of difficulties to learn the code from the pro remote in the different softwares i use (rti, nevo, speakercraft and urc). Don't know why...

If you ever find any real informations about those issues, please pm me. I want to know...

Bell ExpressVu hasn't changed their codes, check the system ID. If using a different system ID you will have to re-learn all of the codes with the remote set to that system id.

I'm using codes from a file for the 6000 series boxes for all of the new 9xxx HD boxes, but I do know that my codes from a 3100 will also work for all non-PVR codes. Point being that is that the codes aren't probably the problem, unless you have a corrupt file.

This applies to any control system that I happen to use with the Bell ExpressVu boxes.
Logic is a systematic method of coming to the wrong conclusion with confidence.
