I would like to get some insight on your thoughts of the Extron HDMI Matrix switchers. We are not a dealer but am wondering if you could compare them to Key Digital and Crestron DM as to cost, ease of installation, problems etc. We are looking for a 4x4 HDMI matrix solution and someone had mentioned Extron but didn't provide us with any other information so I thought I would check here and get some insight from the ones that use it everyday before we go any further with it.

Thanks

Is it just 4*4 HDMI or do you need the flexibility of input and output options?

4x4 HDMI for now, maybe down the road the flexibility if we need it but this is a small house and DM it too large (maybe too pricy) so we are trying to find another solution.

The prodigy HDMI will be out by the end of the summer (supposedly) with 6x6 and 6x4 option.

For more of a budget solution, I've done the Snap 4x4 in one project and so far so good. I ran dual cat6 about 70 feet and no issues knock on wood.
Hey, careful man, there's a beverage here!

I was going to recommend the Snap piece as everyone we've done as well as heard of is working well.

I'm an Extron dealer and have no input on the HDMI switcher but they will put you through hoops getting set up as a dealer. You will need to be able to move product for them.

Anyone have experience with CE Labs? I believe they make a reasonably priced 4x4 kit with RJ45 output over Cat 5/6 to receivers that come in the kit.

Gman, Since you are also a Crestron dealer how does the Extron stuff compare to Crestron with reliability, setup, control with Crestron, and price?

Dave, I just looked at the future products on Crestron's site and they don't have any estimated dates for either the Prodigy 6x6, 6x4 or the DM 6x6,6x4 pieces.
It would be nice to use the Crestron stuff and hopefully it is out by the end of the summer but until then we need to find some alternative solutions.
