I picked up a MX3000 for myself today.  I'm trying to do a Live Update on the MX3000 Editor, but it doesn't do it.  It acts like it's going to do it, it even says the program is going to shut down after it completes.  But it doesn't do anything.  The newest Denon units I have in the editor are the xx08ci units.  I'm sure they'd work, but I'm curious as to why the editor doesn't update?

I'm using Windows 7
I'm trying to update through "communications" clicking Live Update. (like you would in CCP).

I just checked and I have up to the XX11 series. It says i do not need to update as I an on the latest version. In the past I have had to go into the program manager and "repair" the installation.

try running the editor as an Administrator.  Right click on the shortcut to select this.

Very strange.  I tried at least a dozen times to run the live update and it just wouldn't.

While messing with the 3000 I managed to lock it up somehow.  I did a factory default reset on it.  After I did that, I tried the update again.  Voila, it worked. I'm up to the xx11ci models now.

I bought this thing because I felt like I was missing the boat on some of the URC line, figured I'd kock it around for awhile, and try to sell some.  I had no idea this thing doesn't program in ccp.  It's editor is terribly slow.  The remote is ok.  I don't really see what the big deal is about it.  Feels a little clumsy in my hands, I guess I'm just a wand guy.  My son digs it though.  But he's only 12. He don't know Sh#t.  :)

Yup, by far one of my least favorite remotes. Programming sucks, screen sucks, form sorta sucks. Don't get me wrong, its better than some other choices, but I sold one and would never sell one again. I recently did a programming job for a DIY guy where I programmed two of these with an MSC400 for whole house control (8 rooms, 4 of which were component video and rest composite video).

try turning off the "aero" mode for windows 7... it speeds up the program by a ton... not sure why, but it seems to take 100x longer with aero active.
