you will more than likely need to contact a local AMX dealer to assit you with programming as most software is not available to the end user.

Dont be afraid to give them a call. I'm sure if you explain your story they should be able to help. I have no knowledge of AMX but that system seems to be very old meaning they might hook you up. With a true interest in home automation at 13 you might be the perfect candidate for a summer intern once you are old enough.

I've already contacted my rolec dealer ages ago about the most basic control4 system but the quoted me around 1,500 I'm not sure weather that's okay with out installation!?! But I'm hopeing thell atleast give me some help?

Their website is rolec.net but it hasent been maintained in ages (late 2007!)

AMX is generally not consumer programmed. The software is proprietary and not distributed.

Even programming a basic system generally runs $1000 minimum US

i went down to one of my dealers today we spoke for a while and they said thell put a program on there for me for free!!

they also said they have some units(touch panels, keypads) that have cosmetic damage eg i saw a modero portable 7" touch panel with dock with a scratch down the side of the screen but its old so there not sure if it will hold charge!

does anybody know anywhere other than a dealer and ebay to get AMX equipment??

I have a pile of old equipment. I'm sure others do to. What do you want to do with it?

When I was experimenting at my home, I just bought a bunch of old stuf off of ebay for cheap. Lots of universities regularly update their rooms and unload the old stuff cheap.

While the axcent processor is sure to sufficient to run most systems, It wont work with Modero touch Panels. Anything "Modero" communicates with the processor over ethernet.. and you will notice there is no ethernet jack on the back of an axcent 3. I would advise you to look for a Netlinx processor.

@mcotton what amx equipment do you have and how cheap can i get it? as money is a realy issue for me as im only 13

@impaqt again i got this system off a good friend that only cost me £32 + P&P! so a netlinx would not be an option! is there any sort of adaptor that would let it communicate with a modero??
also have you got anything youd be prepared to sell?

@MJX220 I have a NI-700 that I would sell for $200. I would suggest that you look at arduinos also. You can a board that is very similar to the NI-700 for around $30.

Ni-700 is an NI-700. The only difference is the Power Supply.. and since the Processors run on 12V DC, getting a 220 to 12v DC adapter isnt an issue.
