Trying to update (scary) it says "update is available, software will be restarted"
Then it doesnt do anything. Never seen this before
why have a nice system if you cant operate it, program the remote the right way the FIRST time!

I just tried and it worked for me. Did it run the update and hang or just hang? Do you still have internet? Also at the end of the update a box pops up that you must click on to move forward. Could this box be behind something else? That has bit me before.

If you're using FireFox, look at the area below the normal header on the display for a box asking if you want to allow the application.

I had the exact same thing happen to me last night.  I turned off my firewall and logged in as administrator and it worked.

I'm using windows 7.

Then I started programming a MX880.  Programmed it for a couple hrs last night, and a few hrs today at the customers house.

All of the sudden, it would no longer download, kept getting download failures, Cannot find device driver...Turned into a disaster.

Called Tech Support, they said.."Bad remote"... I tried different usb ports, rebooting machine and ccp, everything.

I drive 40 minutes 1 way, go get a new one...plug it in same thing..no way in hell 2 bad remotes..call Tech support back...

guy says try the usb from the remote you just picked up...Bingo.  Problem fixed.

Who woulda thunk.  1st USB came right out of the box with the remote.

No Worries, Had the same issue when I moved to Windows 7 (Skipped Vista). Took me a day to figure out.

USB cables, Ive found the cables that come with the 980 to be extreamly reliable but I have had an issue here or there, I carry a 2' USB cable and have never had an issue not once with it. Not sure if its a voltage thing, an undercharged remote or what but Thats why I carry it, just in case,

Also as has been covered well here the driver issue with CCP and URC remotes in Vista and Windows 7, Ive had to go through the full steps a couple of times on the same machine just when I have used a different USB port than previous used,

What happened to all the IR data for projectors?
I just reinstalled another copy of CCP on my desktop and the Projector IR data has nothing under the brand window.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

Probably the same reason C4 has "Televisions" and "Plasma Televisions" listed as 2 separate things...

I just updated my CCP and I now have the Projector section as well.... Pretty sure its new.. Maybe they are going to start dividing them out in the future?

I've had a lot of bad cables.

I'm thinking that the wires are tiny, and they get broken during packaging.

Have to hold the remote just so.... Get the Avon calling ding dong, and load the program before you lose the connection.... ;-)

Are you saying that they reworked the database? I've found in some manufacturers that there are, say, LCD categories but some LCDs are listed under televisions... has this been fixed too?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

The C4 Database? Hell no. Its totally screwy. Drives me insane that they still dont realize there are functional differences between Blu-Ray and Standard DVD Players.....

I dont do a ton of CCP myself, But I always remembered the "TV" category held all the video display devices. Today, there is indeed a "Projector" category... and its empty.....
