I'm used to using the Speco 16ch TL series DVR's and they seem to work very well.

But for this install, we need to install more then 16 cameras. More like 32. I quoted the project using 2 TL DVR's, and 2 32" monitors but was wondering if there is a solution for using just one DVR.

We are using simple bullet cameras so there is no need for PTZ.

Any ideas?

ICRealtime just came out with one.

Don't do 2 units where 1 will suffice unless locations of camera feeds justify 2 separate units.

Unless you use the software to manage watching your cameras, which can accommodate multiple devices, viewing multiple DVRs can be a bitch.
If you want to use web browser, now you might have to assign 2 separate IP addresses, or at least 2 ports.
On smartphones, you might have to disconnect from 1 DVR, and connect to second one.

I'm facing that right now on my house. I had 16 cameras and wanted to add more. I got second DVR and now I'm trying to figure which cameras to hook up to which DVR. I'm not going to give my wife two separate IPs to remember, unless I can make it logical (1. for outside, 2. for inside). Also on my DroidX, while I can have 2 DVR profiles, I have to disconnect from one and connect onto the second one, which is a bit of a pain.

if you do do two speco DVR's they have FREE software for central monitoring that will display all cams.
