Ernie posted back in '06 about this issue and thought I'd put out a new request for info.
I've had enough close calls with "mall-mammas" flying behind me when backing up and missed oportunities with street parking where I can't tell if I can fit.
I got a quote for $500 installed for a camera and 3" or so stand-alone monitor mounted somewhere on the dash.
I can't put the camera on top due to clearence issues, but I think at licence plate level will provide a limited FOV.
Is there a way to mount on the top taillight without damaging?
Anybody have any suggestions I should consider?
Thanks!

Try qualitymobilevideo.com. They have tons of different mounting option packages to choose from. I have one mounted under the rear plate and it works good for me.
