Can I have two remotes both set to RF controlling the same box?
Can I have a 2nd receiver set to RF as well without have cross talk issues? Is there different channels or something.
Basically this guy wants to have his DTV box mirrored to his bathroom and has a bunch of extra directv remotes. His family room box is already set to RF, so I'm curious if we set his bedroom box to RF if it will create issues or not and if he can have 2 remotes (one in the bedroom one in the bathroom) controlling the same box via RF.
thanks!

I know you can have multiple boxes in the house with RF.
I had to set some up for a customer that the DTV guy didn't set up for him. Now the remotes get paired to the boxes rather than a simple code. Not sure if you can pair 2 remotes to a box or not. You'd just have to try it and see.
One thing I have noticed is that once you stop using the remote for a few minutes there is a noticeable delay when you first press a button on the remote to change channels or enter the guide. It's like they have to sync up again. Once that happens they operate at normal speed.

Yes, and to elaborate on cma's answer --
When you set up an RF remote with a receiver, the setup process will give you a particular number to enter in the remote to pair it with the receiver. This number can be used with multiple remotes.
What's not mentioned is that once you've set up the RF remote, you can't get the instructions on screen again to give you that number, so you'd better write down it and all the instructions so that you can program the other remotes to also operate that receiver.
When I learned this, I switched back to IR, wrote down the instructions, and then redid the RF setup. Save yourself the step of learning how not to do it!

you use the last 6 digits of the RID #, found a sticker in the access card compartment, or simply pressing the DASH key on the remote, will give you this 6 digit code.
For a second or third RF remote to control your receiver thats already in RF mode, just do the following on the new remotes:
1. Directv, AV1 or AV2 device 2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT, wait for two blinks, release 3. enter 0 0 0 0 1
4. press and hold MUTE & SELECT, wait for two blinks, release 5. enter 9 6 1 6. press CH UP 7. enter the last 6 digits f the Receiver ID #(RID), found a sticker in the access card compartment 8. press SELECT
