I could write a book about all the the moronic moments I've experienced with cable and Satellite guys.

I have a real good rack story that would piss off any installer that reads it.

I wired a home with full distributed wiring package.
I wasn't called in when, DirecTV guys showed up. He connected everything but the patio TV.
The satellite 'expert' tells the homeowner that he can't connect the patio without receiver out there, and even if he could find the room in custom made TV enclosure, he'll need to find a way to run more wires.
Client is pissed, and she starts calling me all kind of names and all. She tells me that DirecTV guy has been here for 6 hours trying to figure how to run new wires to the patio TV thru stone walls, clay roof tiles, etc.
Normally she's about 1.5 hours out from my location, but I happen to be working on 'that' side of town so I tell her that "I'll be there when I finish with current job, or about 8PM, keep the satellite guy there if you can, I want to talk to him". So I get there, and I'm a bit tired and a bit pissed. Sat guy is gone.
So I take 2 short pieces of coax, walk to wiring closet and connect one coax to back of receiver & the feed to patio location. Walk to patio, and connect second coax from wall plate to TV. Turn the TV on and tell the client something to the tone of: "There, this took me all of 1 minute. I'm tired, I'm disappointed in your lack of trust in me, and if you want that image in HD vs. just a coax feed, and no additional wires ran outside of your house, call me".

She felt stupid as hell. Started apologizing, but I was too grumpy to hear her or remember what she said.
She did something to make things right, gift or referral or something, but I don't remember, because all I can remember is her luck of trust over some guy that just showed up and undermined the relationship that I had built with her and her husband over the 1.5years worth of meetings, designs, and us completing the A/V work in her house.

Full dist AV house.
Coax for security feed, several Cat5e for baluns ran to all TV locations including one at living room over FP. Equipment in the closet 20+ feet away. Shelf in the closet reserved for the sat box.
Client calls disappointed, but calm, stating that: "DirecTV guy just left and said he had to disconnect the camera feed from the back of living room TV to use it for a receiver. He placed receiver on its side, bottom facing the room, so the receiver could pick up the signal from remote." This was next to fire place with coax running across."
I went over, reconnected coax to the back of TV, moved the sat receiver to the closet and was done in 10min.
Client was happy and has made it a point to not let anyone else touch my wires or AV equipment.

BTW, let me know if you want me to dig up the date that this happened, as the next day I started my DirecTV custom installer application, so there is paperwork somewhere for that.
