I have a customer with a Sony 55HX800. The customer is using two sources, and Cable Box plugged into the TV via HDMI on HDMI1, and a Wii plugged into the TV on AV1.
When the customer turns on the Wii, turns the TV to the Wii input (AV1), and plays wii for more than 15 minutes, I cannot get the Cable Box to work on HDMI1. When I change back to HDMI1, the Cable Box gets an E007 code, and the cable GUI reads HDMI HDCP failure on the TV screen. then about 3 seconds later, the Sony Screen goes to the "you have no input signal". The only way I can get the TV to work again is to unplug the power to the TV, and the HDMI Cable, then power on the TV. Then power off the TV, plug the Cable Box HDMI back into the TV, and then it will work.
I had an Integra BD30.1 in the truck, so I plugged that into the HDMI Cable, and came up with the same results, so it's not a cable box issue. I am assuming when the TV is on an analog input for a while, it ruins the HDCP, and I cannot get HDCP working again until I unplug the TV. I also tried different HDMI Cables (9 foot ProFlex V1.4a), with the same results.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks
Mike

"Your TV may be in SYNC mode. Press SYNC MENU, select TV Control and then select Home (Menu) or Options to control the TV." [Link: people.ok.ubc.ca]May be an EDID issue, search for a way to disable it.

I talked to Sony tech Support today, and they claim it's an issue with the source components. They say that the cable box and Bluray are not outputting HDCP while the TV is on the analog input. Sony said they should output HDCP the whole time, and that I need to try a Sony BluRay or update my Integra. The Integra is up to date, and there is now way to update a cable box. When I go back to the customers house, I am going to try a 22" LG to see if it has problems with HDCP.

Look in the TV menu first, to try to disable EDID.
