I just watched Tangled in 3D.
My 2 Year old's first 3D movie and the industry's future.

What did she think of the experience?
She watched the first hour with glasses and then the rest of the movie without.
She didn't want anything to do with the glasses and ended up watching a blurry picture!

Probable messed the kid's eye sight up for good!
Maybe I can sue Disney if she ever needs glasses?

If she's the future.....3D is done!
They do make nice coasters in the new Bluray disk packages though!!!!!!

I also get dizzy watching 3D stuff, to the point I do not even bother with the demos... I am not against selling it though if a client wants it, I just prepare them with the facts.

You are hereby deducted 10 points for your sir-mix-alot reference.

You just brought up a memory that sends douche chills through me. Sophomore year in high school, nearly every day ended with 3 of us redneck boys in a pickup listening to a cassette of Buttermilk Biscuits.

I had blocked that out of my memory. But you had to go and drag it back up. Thanks a lot.

I still have that cassette. Too bad SirMixAlot is best known for big butts and buttermilk biscuits. Everyone forgot about the swass movement.

I'm wondering how many of you that are ragging on 3D have actually installed a proper 3D home theater.

3D on a projection screen in a properly designed room is pretty amazing!

The article was ragging on 3D in commercial theaters, not just home TVs

Not when you are "immune" to its intended effects like I am.. But if the clients ask for it, lets sell it! And enough glasses for their whole family and all their friends. :) $$$ Why not? :)

And I thought I would have to live alone with my shame. Now I may even work up the courage to pull out my Milli Vanilli CD.

And I can top that, a color pic on the front page of the local newspaper with me and the Fat Boys while they were performing at the local watermark I worked at.

I did a higher end JVC 3d projector that looked great - similar quality to the local theaters, but I still was tired of it after about 10 minutes - the dimming of the picture (even in "3D" mode), the studdering of the images when it panned, and the slight feeling that my eyes were being [email protected]#ed with due to the active glasses. If the glasses can be lighter, wrap around more, the picture can be smoother, the screen brightness stays the same, and the eyes strain goes away I think it could be cool.

Is it just me or are the Sony 3D video demos smoother than Panasonic and Samsung?

I think the 3D will quickly improve since so much money has been invested in its success. At a recent Sony training (sort of) they say Sony is going all in on 3D - every camcorder TV etc will be 3D this year.

Through it all, as I viewed 3D on the customers new JVC projector, I couldn't help but think, "wow, this would actually be pretty cool for a virtual lap dance".
