Reminds me of HDMI.
I came into this game for the action, the excitement. Go anywhere, travel light, get in, get out, wherever there's AV trouble, a man alone.

I am far from credible, but I will go on record that this entire movement is crap.

I am another one who gets the 'eye fatigue' thing very early during 3-D viewing, and that is during viewing on small sets or on large projection systems.

It's like the rainbows from the early single chip DLP sets, except the fatigue / headache for 3-D significantly worse in my case.

I will give the theatrical version another shot when the Werner Herzog's cave movie comes out. (note that I am **not interested at all** in James Cameron's bullshit 3-D cave movie)

I dont get 3D at all. I thought Avatar was horrible in 3D. It sucks because you cant ever see a movie for the first time twice. The movie wasn't the best ever but it would have been much better without 3D.

I watched green hornet in RealD with the blue framed glasses and it was much better but still annoying as hell. The glasses were more comfortable compared to the goggle type glasses i got @ avatar.

Who the heck would want to watch this at home? Especially in their theater?

3D=FAIL

Yeah, me too. I must admit I've been waiting for it to improve somehow. I don't think I'll be able to evolve enough in the next few weeks or months to sit through much more 3D, however.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

+1 ........ I'm not credible ........ but sooo agree

I don't like 3D, but I'm not credible either. In fact, I'm borderline in-credible.

I don't think that the general public is going crazy for 3D at home. I haven't met any 'civilians' that really want 3D. They'd rather have a bigger, better, 2D experience and great sound.

Several points to this thread.

1. Add me to the list of those that agree 3D is a fail. Ill leave my credibility to be determined by the group.

2. I never realized smell-o-vision was a real concept. I only thought it was something that apeared in a Loony Toons cartoon where Elmer Fudd some how traveled to the future.

3. Disney does use smells, along with wind and moving seats, in their Soaring ride at Epcot and it is pretty cool.

The Tingler came out in 1959, and they added buzzers to random seats in larger theaters (and didn't warn the audience).

MuppetVision 3D at Disney's Hollywood is one the best movie experiences anywhere, and its been around for 20 years. No motion is involved. But in addition to the old school blue and red 3D, you get blasted with air and water. Honey I Shrunk The Audience is similar, but it lacks those 2 old muppets that are actually up in the balcony.

You're all credible in my book.

Considering I haven't been able to breathe through my nose for almost 3 days, smell-o-vision is about as much use to me as 3D

just wait, they will bring back Smell-O-Vision when they can't profit any more from 3D.

Hold on there, it's already coming back, sort of. This article is from last week.

I also agree. In fact, i'm not interested until we reach 36D...

Considering that I come home everyday to be greeted by 36DD in "RealD" I'd just like to say "I don't need no stinkin' glasses"

The muppet 3D one is very well done indeed, however when I saw it it was obvious that one of the reels was having quality issues (flickering in one eye).

Honey I Shrunk the Audience has been closed in order to bring Captain EO back. However there's another great 3D one, "It's Tough to be a Bug!" in Animal Kingdom, with all the bells and whistles... and stink bombs.

Disneyland in Hong Kong had a 3D animated movie playing when I was there a couple of years ago. It started as a small screen black and white movie and seamlessly evolved to be a 180 degree coulour 3D movie. They used polarised glasses so none of the flickering effects from shuttered glasses. This spoiled me as the production values were incredible, and the cinema only played the one movie so all special effects were tailored for this single purpose.
I have only seen 3D in one domestic application and sorry, but a 42 inch screen with glasses that flicker and you can see light from the edges is not an immersive experience.
Wireless speakers? Of course Sir. Choose the colour and size you like. As you don't seem to think sound quality is important, I will not plug them in.
