an open region player will fix that sherwood blu ray is open and I think oppo is too, but not sure.

Usually its still an issue BUT must of the units now with HDMI output like Blurays and Satellite have an option to choose the system output between NTSC and PAL so you can choose NTSC output to match the US TVs models. Another option would be to use system coverter like this one
