No, it's not. If he did not have to travel to New York City to get a replacement battery, which is what he implied, he could replace it himself. Nothing will ever make you good at basketball.

Don't confuse what's inconvenient with what's impossible. Reminds me of the drunk, being told he's drunk, who replied, "yeah, but you're stupid.* Tomorrow I will wake up sober but you will wake up stupid."

*or ugly or whatever
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

So why doesn't he move closer to civilization?

It's possible for him to move closer to civilization.

So people are complaining that they have to buy the right tool to do the job? I bet I could find several tools in my stash that would get those screws out. But that is not the point. And I would not expect most iPhone owners to be that resourceful (no offense). ;) I also expect that a very large percentage of those who have complained about Apple's practice of putting these evil screws on their devices would have never known they were even there if they had not read it on the internet or heard it from someone else who had read it on the internet. Furthermore, even if they did know about them and did have the tool, most of them would still take their iPhone or Macbook in to the Mac geeks to fix it anyway.

We all have a LOT of specialty tools in our homes, offices, workplaces, that are specifically designed to perform a single task even though these tasks can often be performed with other, already owned devices. Things like pizza cutters, staple removers, letter openers, light bulb holder and twister outers, step stools, bottle openers, toilet brushes, those twirly screwdrivers that are only good at jabbing holes in walls around outlets, the official Speakercraft grille removal tool, etc.....

If you have an iPhone and you want to change the battery, GET THE RIGHT TOOL AND CHANGE THE DAMN BATTERY ALREADY so you can get back to angry birds or stressing over what app to get next. :)
