anyone know of a converter that offers down mixing of advanced 7.1 audio to 2 channel audio? i need hdmi connectors on both sides. this is for a distribution system that has some older displays that can't decode 7.1 mixed with home theater systems that can.

HDMI will not output two types of audio signal at the same time.
The only way to do this would be to have a full outboard processor that down mixed the 7.1 to 2 channel (FWIW: I have not seen such).
