This is a first. Got a call from a client a few days ago saying that they need a replacement remote because they put the remote in the oven with the bread. I felt terrible as Im sure they did about the cost of the mistake but they had a good sense of humor about it and we all had a good laugh. They actually forgot about the bread in the oven too so it was in there all night. Heat was on it for 4 hours. Luckily they didnt eat the bread because it was burned from being in there so long. Here is what I found today when I swapped out their remote. Enjoy!

I'm Not an engineer, but I play one on TV. My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird. |

It actually held up better than I would have expected. Though it's a good thing the batteries didn't explode...

Best thing I've seen in a long time. Did they offer any explanation as to how it got in the oven? Kid? Bread in one hand and remote in the other? Ended up in water and tried to dry it out?
I would send back to URC just for shits and giggles. They took one of ours that went though a full wash and dry cycle.

It was destroyed. The pics dont do it justice. Well, based on the description of what it went through, my initial thought would have been a brown crispy lump of charred plastic, but it's far from that... still quite recognizable as a MX-900. Salvador Dali Likes This

I would occasionally leave my 900 in the fridge by mistake.

The remote stays in the kitchen for the kitchen TV and house audio. It was on the counter under the bread pan. The clients mom wrapped the bread and pan in tin foil and when scooping under the pan wrapped the remote in with it and placed the entire thing in the oven. How they did notice the lump on the bottom, I dont know. Not sure I would have believed it if I didnt see it myself and see the rail marks on the bottom of the remote. Luckily I had recently made some changes to the remote and had the latest file.

I am with Daniel, I Would have expected the plastic to have become an indistinguishable molten lump, the main circuit board I can see surviving a great deal of heat but everything else, i am astonished :-)
