Haha true indeed. It's all just pipes and as long as you're sure all the drains slope downhill you're good to go!

I love this product. I suppose they get the "component Video" from the fact that you are connecting one component to the other, including VCR's.

Use the Jasco Products Company 15 ft. RG6 Coaxial Component Video Cable to connect your TV, DVD player, VCR or receiver. The cable features ready-to-connect, screw-on connectors.

Use to connect 2 components equipped with F-type jacks, including TVs, DVD players, VCRs and receivers
For indoor use
15 ft. length is ideal for completing mid-range connections
Screw-on connectors make connection easy

You can't even buy trim out supplies at HD or lowes because half the time they only have the OVERSIZED decora cover plates (for drywallers who can't cut boxes accurately.)

They also rarely understand the difference between wire that is meant for in-wall and out-of wall use, especially when it comes to speaker wire. They always think the lamp cord speaker wire with the clear jacket is all they have/ exists. Every time I have ever asked, I have to find it on my own and show them that they have the right kind and that it comes in 500' boxes.

Guess this helps explain why every time you do an install for someone who prewired speakers themselves, you have lamp cord wire sticking out of the ceiling in the general location of the speaker.

Sound,

You know i never thought of it that way. For plumbers im sure lasco is garbage like GE is to us. Good point, None the less its still pretty funny with some of the descriptions they have.

So basically we make use of our businesses licenses and apply to be a dealer at Ferguson. That way we get professional products for our home :)

Just kidding dont do that.

On a side note, how many are you full service guys are dealers of ferguson for high end appliances and lighting? We are GC'ing a basement in a multi million dollar home and are going to be providing all the lighting and high end appliances in the bar.

Come guys, you need the ultra GE cables to make the White Van projector and speakers perform to their fullest potential. Other wise the system will look and sound like crap. Plus while your their you can get paintable wall moulding to run the cables in.

I love the description for this!

[Link: homedepot.com]

It's so good it requires a bit of a reprint here:

Supports all HDTV Formats. You can extend a 6 foot HDMI up to 12 feet. You can connect an HDMI cable to a television or component that has a DVI input. The perfect adapter that delivers superior picture quality and sound.

That's their description for screw-on RCA plugs.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Wow! I am such a newb. My ego just took a kick in the nuts, because I had no idea that you could extend HDMI 6 more feet with RCA cables.

OMG! I had just finished laughing at the description for those RCA ends and noticed the shipping...

No, those were just iPhone owners trying to find a signal.

Already ahead of you, i filled my trailer with all of them :)

I was in HD tonight and played the dumb consumer, i questioned "insane" cost of the speaker cable and the guy said ohh you dont need that, lamp cord works perfect. I have an electrician buddy that wired an entire home for sound with just lamp cord! its the same stuff and he said the speakers sound great too. (he used HD's IC speakers) I chuckled and said thanks for your help.

with the knowlege of the HD clerks and and their awesome online descriptions will ensure we will have plenty of repair jobs from the hacks that try and start there businesses out of HD's Ci program
