What are you guys using? I searched the forums and read what everyone had to say in the past. I didn't see any commentary on the Triad offering.

I have a solid Drive on my desk.

Thoughts on Solid Drive, Stealth Accoustics, Triads, others......

Solid drive - expensive, neat for glass or ceramic, not the best for drywall.

Stealth - also expensive (cheaper than solid drive), reasonably easy installation process, sounds ok when calibrated w/ audyssey, manage your customers expectations otherwise, oh and use a backbox if they are against another room/floor.

Sound Advance - PITA installation, expensive, same caveats as above.

Amina Technologies. Just used them they sound awesome. Whatever you do use, make sure you also include a subwoofer in each audiozone.

Really? I think they are fairly easy to install. The new series even more so. Also, the new SA3 and SA1.5 Have a back box per-attached.

Do you guys cut the holes, install the speakers, then sheetrock or plaster over them yourselves?

I have yet to find an invisible speaker that sounded even half way good. I know the customer is always right, and we often compromise our own standards to meet the customer's desires.... But to this point, we will not do this type of speaker.

I will say that the Live Wall stuff From Bay Audio sounds promising. I have yet to hear it/work with it though.
I'm Not an engineer, but I play one on TV.
My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird.

I am just finishing a small job using stealth acoustics LR6's and the b22 inwall sub. They sounded very good, though i'll hear them again next week after the paint is done.

I only get into these in new construction installs.

We do everything except the final coat and supervise that to make sure it is thinly applied.

I think anytime you choose aesthetics over performance there will be sacrifice but sometimes a client is more concerned with aesthetics so its the BETTER choice.

That said, personally I am very happy with the SA stuff.
