A nice app. But I'm getting leery about all these manufacturers builder remote apps for their devices.

Why are you leery? These apps mean manufaturers are putting IP control in their devices which makes it easier for us to control.

Putting it in yes, giving the open access to you, not really. Too many are proprietary and creating a false sense of compatibility.

Exactly!! And the fact they are releasing these apps for Free.

The GUI are nicely done, so it's tough to knock it.

I like having apps for when the customer has a rack full of equipment and his/her remote stops working. An example would be if the customer has a house full of RTI remotes and the XP8 goes down. Pull out the iPad, control the piece of equipment and buy me time to get out to service the equipment. I really like having sub systems that can stand on their own with a control system that sits on top. I guess that was my point.

This Tivo app is nice, but not what people are looking for. Clearly people are looking for streaming capabilties. Xfinity (Comcast) is a hair away from creating that with a preliminary APP that has been out for awhile that looks just as good as this Tivo app.
