Looking for a 4 zone DA piece that has at least 2 zones with line out, something like the Russound CA4, it would be perfect if it had 1 more zone with line out. It only does zone 4 out.
We usually do not do small DA projects but were doing a nice theater for the guy and I figured no biggy, but Im having a real hard time finding a piece that fits.
Thanks

what are the two line outs for? if its just for extra amps on those two zones, get six or eight zone DA and group zones together

how would that be perfect? it doesnt have line outs. so it doesnt address his request. also, i am not sure how it is more perfect than the russound he mentioned. obviously, since i sell crestron, it would be a logical solution for me. just questioning your suggestion

If you are wanting to do external amps for more speakers or more power why not just get some speaker level to line level converters.
I know sonance and audioplex make them. You could also sto p by any half way decent car audio store in your area and they will probably have them as well.

Yes wanting to add additional amplification as 2 zones will have 8 speakers each in 3 areas with volume controls
I've never used the speaker level to line level adapters. How well do they work it won't matter for this job but do they affect audio quality?

that essentia may be the way to go. it has fixed and line level out. it pisses me off so bad when DA devices dont have line level out, at least on a couple of zones. adagio and prodigy are offenders. i always semm to get around it but it limits what you can and cant do. ive never used the speaker to line adapters but i cant imagine them doing anything good to the sound quality.

I'd second that Nuvo Essentia.

You already know Russound, why not use the CAA66?

Sonance C4630. Simple system. Fixed/variable preamp out for all zones in addition to speaker outs. 4 source/6 zone. All inputs have outputs as well for stacking. RS232 controllable for integration to AMX/Crestron/RTI etc. BBE processing as well. It sounds good for a DA system [Link: sonance.com]

Both NetStreams Musica and DigiLinX systems have a preamp out Ifixed or variable) for every zone as a standard feature.

If you are just looking for the DA itself, i would consider the CAA66. If there is an option for a possible integration, why not the prodigy PAMP-4X100? combine DA, metadata, Control, Lights (future), iphone, Ipad ... and many more possibilities to expand
