we recently did a job for an advertising company.
3 conference rooms, a reception area, and a kitchen area.

we have a component matrix, a vga matrix, a few av receivers, and a bunch of different baluns . .

everything connects back to main rack in back of office.

the client is having a speaker come to speak in one of their conference rooms,
and they want to live stream from the conference room to the reception area (for the spill over of people that dont fit in the conference room).

the reception area tv is hooked up to the component matrix.

in the back of the conference room we have a vga balun hook up for laptops they want to play on conference room tvs.

we can swap out baluns for other types if needed for this one/two day scenario but i cant figure out what to use to stream the audio and video, and over what connections.

any ideas?
let me know if im leaving out any key info . .

get a camera with component video output and use component video cabling that is in place delivering video in that conference room in reverse to deliver video from camera back to rack for distribution through matrix. or the simplest way would be to use a good camera with some type of wireless transmission system that has receiver with component video output to be plugged in as input to matrix. Sure wireless lavelier mic back to your audio distribution system with a good preamp to go between wireless audio receiver and you DA gear.

i used to have a minidv camera that had component video out via 1/8'' jack and supplied 1/8" to component video cables. also you could use a scan converter to convert composite video from any dv cam.

do you have component and audio routed to all displays? does your component vid matrix route audio as well?

Go to B&H and get a camcorder that has component output. I'm sure they have something.

just get that one I linked its HD and cheap, less than three hundred. you could rent it to them for $300 and have a camera. HDV is the standard for tape, it records HD onto minidv tape.  If its a camcorder you want to actually use in the future i'd get something HDD based. I like canon cameras personally but sony makes some good stuff too. Just make sure it has component out.

some cameras will live feed and not go to sleep if there is no tape. So if you want to set it and forget it should try to find one like this. Some sonys are like this. The manual or a call to B& H would probably work.
