I have a client that has an existing cabinet to the right of his fireplace and wants to install a scissor lift and possibly motorized. I usually sell the complete cabinet with lift already premade so does anyone have a recommendation?

Cheap - Proconnect is suppose to be shipping a lift for under $1000 (might be up to 40" only) Reasonable - Chief is under $3500 Spendy - Auton or Lift-Tech. Both Lift-Tech and Auton have models that can swivel once the TV is raised. Both are 5K plus. I use Lift-Tech when it's critical to have a great finished product or when swivel is needed. Chief is nice but it's tough to make the back of the TV look good. I think the ProConnect is suppose to be shipping within the month.

Did you retrofit these into existing cabinets yourself? If yes, how difficult did you find it? Do you have any pictures of before, during and after? I'd be really interested to see.

Have always had a carpenter on site or had a cabinet guy take care of the construction. Here are two different jobs where both are chief. I have a Lift-Tech job that is currently underway and I'll take pics when done. As mentioned the Chief solution works fine but I haven't found a great way to wrap the TV with wood with Chief. Lift-Tech is much easier. [IMG] [/IMG] [IMG] [/IMG] [IMG] [/IMG] [IMG] [/IMG] Sorry, I don't have any pic's of what it looks like around the lift.

Nice installs Drewski. Does the TV in the first install drop down? It appears to be the case from what I can see. The theater looks great. What is the function of the TV there?

Yeah, the TV pics look great. Does that cordless phone annoy the homeowner when they watch TV?

It's the Chief lift that lowers. Figure that out! Well it started out as a karaoke monitor but it also works great for rock band. Here is a pic of the stage: [IMG] [/IMG]

How did you protect that overhanging lid on the Karaoke screen from being ripped off/crushing someone's fingers? On my last lift project one of my guys left a manual hanging over the edge of the opening, and it ripped that lid section right off. We had to replace the entire cabinet. We left the cabinet top installed with just the compression fitting and we did not install the nuts. This way if a child's head is under it the cabinet top would pop off. If I had to do it again I would have either used a lift-tech mount with a enclosed box around the TV. Or use the chief mount with a lid top that had a piano hinge on the back side and when the TV goes up the cabinet top lifts back and the TV comes out.
