Sorry... no model number... should have observed that.

We just got them after waiting for a month... new in the plastic.

I swapped out 4 today in a Crestron driven system that was using speakercraft IR emitters (which generally have a higher resistive value than others). We had to change the emitters and used Niles in their place. This was enough to overdrive the IR receivers on the boxes and cause very sluggish operation. Once the eyes were placed just to the left of the IR windows and covers were added, they were good to go.

these boxes are garbage, the town we actually do alot of our work in is a "field" test for all of the new sh!t crapcast comes out with. makes it a nightmare for integration.

why cant they test these things else ware :)

I also tested the external IR in. I figured it was not active but tested none the less. It did not work. At least they have gone to black!

Curious if it is the Motorola boxes or the Comcast software/firmware that makes them suck!

FYI... we were told by Comcast that live 3D is only available with the newest boxes. Older boxes can deal with onDemand 3D content but not live.

The IR in jack does work from what I have heard...... It's actually meant for a sensor not an emitter. So plug in an IR sensor, then stick the emitter on it. That should work. I haven't tested it, but that what a Charter guy said to do.

Yeah... thought they may be for the same IR receivers that they use on the DTA boxes.

He is saying to plug an IR receiver (Comcast supplied or other if it works) to the IR input jack and then stick the emitter from your control system onto the receiver. This way you do not have to place an emitter on the front of the box.

You could also identify the pin out and tap into the IR signal and ground as long as the signal and voltage are compatible.

...Not to mention that it takes about 45 minutes to download the software from Comcast...

What he said. I have it that way and it works fine.
