This just came up in the shop and I cant find anything....

Comcast has some Free 3d "Movies" in their "OnDemand" Section.

when you play them, before the movie starts, it tells me to set my TV to Top/Bottom 3d Mode.

I can go into the Panasonic menu here at the showroomand set it for Top/Bottom 3d and it works.

I will try at home tonight on my Samsung, but I'm fairly sure I can manually set my 3d mode on it as well....

I couldnt find anywhere in the SOny Menus system to manually set the 3D mode. Found a Place to turn the AUto Detect On/Off, but nowhere to force a mode.

Skimmed the owners manual doing a Word Search for 3d and "Top" and didnt find anything either.

Is this just a flaw in the Sony? Am I missing something? Without being able to manually set the mode, I get a Double image top half of the screen and bottom half on the Sony.

what is your problem? is the sony not selecting the right mode? is it selecting side by side instead of top/bottom or vice versa.

you can select it on sammy for sure. manually by pressing 3d button on remote or when you turn to 3d channel the tv automatically pops up message with options for top/bottom or side by side.

I suspect the Comcast/Motorola box is not sending any kind of auto sync signal for the 3D. The TV does not detect that its 3D and We just get a Double image split to half/bottom half on the TV.

The Sony Isnt selecting any mode at all.

I'm told There is, but it seems to be just a Toggle On/off and what the sony is selecting isnt how the 3d is being transmitted.. (Sony goes into side by side mode, but comcast is sending Top/Bottom?).

Unfortunately, Our Sony remote for our demo TV is in storage with the box and all our remotes are URC's or C4's and URC doesnt have the "3D" button in their database.. grrrrr...

So I'm thinking it may be a "Hit 3d then hit x" sort of thing?

BTW, you've got email from me..
