I have about 4 in the field where the screen or charging has failed. URC told me they are just replacing the remote and not fixing.

So is it the screen "failing"? What does that mean, failing?

or

Is it the charging has failed? Failed how? The battery won't hold a charge, or the charging base isn't charging the battery? Does the battery say "Roofer" on it?

Were that the case it wouldn't show up for work on the specified day, just like the cable guy from Time Warner.......

That said:

I've had ONE MX-980 battery fail just outside of one year in use, and I've recently had ONE MX-950 die inside the warranty period.

URC is simply replacing rather than repairing failed units. Inside warranty or outside of warranty. And I for one consider this to be a great policy. No waiting for weeks on end for repair. You get a replacement in short order. Couldn't be better in my opinion....

I think URC has probably the most stable products in the entire CI world.... Stuff just works...

The battery failed and the screens fade to a blue on the MX-980. I have had nothing, but happy times with the MX-850. I was just wondering about the reliability of the Complete Control products, which would fit nicely as low level control solution under Elan g!. Doesn't seem as though many people are pushing it yet.

3rd party manufacturer named "Roofer" on the casing.
