Matt -
Any word on whether the Denon implementation of AirPlay will support video streaming? Also, on which models will it be offered? How cedia went well for you!

I'm very curious about video streaming as well.

 Hi guys -

Here is some info about what Denon announced at CEDIA.  There's only mention of music streaming.  I'd be (very pleasantly!) surprised if video streaming is included.

I'm most curious as to whether my 4810-CI will be supported. Given the bit about the firmware update ($49 after a free period?), I'm optimistic.

Until then, I'll continue to use Songbook Mac which is a bit buggy and not as easy to use as a front end as iTunes, but is the only DLNA option I've found for my Macbook Pro.

No video, as mentioned at CEDIA. Also mentioned, is that it is only supported on the 3311CI, 4311CI and the new N7.

Thanks for the info, Matt. Seriously disappointed with Denon for not supporting this feature on a $3k receiver that is less than 1 year old (with no '11 update) and appears to be fully capable of something like this.

The media chip in the networkable xx10/11CI AVR's supports music and photo only, so no video, sorry.

Also, the chipset in the xx10CI AVR's is not the same model as what is in the xx11CI models. So the 10 series will not be able to support the Airplay feature.

No, sorry. It requires networking. So, only the 3311CI and 4311CI will support Airplay.

If a 1911 or a 2311CI is your target AVR, you could add either an Apple TV or an Airport Express to the AVR and use the Air tunes feature in the Apple products.

Matt played with the Ipod app and it is very slick. I love the two way feedback, especially with pandora. the only thing i wish i could do is thumbs up or down/dont like track.

On with the bad,

When I first downloaded the App it found my 3311ci immediately however it only worked this once and can no longer connect to it. I have reset the AVR, IPOD etc etc and still no luck. I do have networking with the receiver though, can remote in listen to pandora etc.

Thoughts?

That's cool. I will have to wait a bit until their is video support. I will probably upgrade my systems this year and then wait out a cycle. :-)

I have the SR 7005 it's a great receiver. I downloaded the iPhone app and can't get it to find the receiver, however I can use the web control just fine. Is there a way to manually specify the IP address of the receiver on the network?

go to the online portal and save your settings then do a processor hard reset. This should solve your problem! I had the exact problem on my denon 3311ci, worked like a charm.

Goodluck

Update the firmware in your 7005. It doesn't have app support out of the box. Where's the Marantz guy when you need him?
