I recieved an email today from "my favorite distributor" effectively launching this piece. [Link: xantech.com]The craziest thing is that I was just wondering about this yesterday. We have so many systems where we are integrating iTouch iPad Apple TV etc but it always requires dedicating a device. I dont think I will use this for a majority of systems because it will take some intelligence on the users parts to navigate around a second device but for some clients that are a little more savvy or techie its a win win......if it works. Personally at home, I have a 4 zone system and in a main part of the residence I have a 3.5 jack that I plug my droid (or ipod) in for Pandora radio. Yeah, a iport in wall would have been cooler with a touch but didnt care for the investment. But this would be EVEN COOLER! Turn it on, keep the phone in my pocket, start Pandora. I wonder if I can stream the SAME source to two different BDXTT? My Theater and house audio are in two different locations.

Very cool indeed. A product we should have expected. They're smart to make it.

We have 30 displays going up and test marketing 100. Xantech is being very cool working with us. Wait until you guys see some of the stuff they will be unavailing at Cedia. I'm quite impressed with them right now.

Very Cool and it works like a charm both in the house and in the car. I've been playing with it for a little over a week and its worthy of my praise. I guess you guys haven't used the Marantz IS-301 iPod dock? [Link: us.marantz.com]It can connect to up to 8 Bluetooth devices. Been out for a while. Am I missing something "special" that the Xantech does?

...and if your friend comes over and wants to play their regular, non Blue Tooth iPod, there's no whurr to dock it. Gotta go with the Marantz!

WVL...what's the range on this bad boy. My concern is roaming about with an iphone and dropping signal. States 80' but what's the real world range because we know that 80' is going to be line of site in best case scenarios. My iphone drops off my cars bluetooth within 10 feet of exiting my vehicle while on a call.

Wait until you guys see some of the stuff they will be unavailing at Cedia. That's the problem with many different manufacturers. They unveil things at an event like Cedia, that continue to be unavailable for years to come! LOL

I have a single story 3 bedroom ranch style home on a corner lot with a big back yard and it works everywhere. Id say the furthest point is pretty close to 80'. OK. what am I doing wrong. I finally got around to trying this piece yesterday. Better to try it in my house before trying it out at a client's house. My daughter had the ipad, so my only blue-tooth enabled device to use for the test was my Blackberry Tour (yeah - I am a Verizon soul waiting for the new I-phone). The pairing was straightforward. I let Pandora roll and sound quality was excellent on the outdoor speakers. Unfortunately, as soon as I (with the bberry) got 10 feet away from the BDXTT I lost connection. I called Xantech, and they thought it might be a defective BDXTT. I want to try this with the Ipad to see if it responds the same way. Anyone else run across poor distance results with this unit? My house is timber with sheetrock. Little to no steel and no plaster over metal lathe, so I doubt it is environmental. Anybody?

The problem with that piece is that it doesn't work...
I ran across them a few months back at my local disty. I took one home, tried it out. It worked perfectly. I went back to the disty and bought the entire shelf. ( thought I found the fountain of youth).
I actually called a customer and said "I've got a surprise for you." took it to his house the next day...Didn't work within 5 ft.
I've been trying to give them away to customers just to get them out of the van, they only work MAYBE 25% of the time. If you lay the phone near the device, you're good, but that's not the point.
So now I have a van full of these things. Bluetooth sucks.
