I have been researching them as a home automation solution.  I know they were very close to going out of business before Russound purchased them.  From what I researched, it sounds like the product is pretty reliable, and easy to work with, and that the people at Colorado vNet are very helpful.  I was hoping to get some reviews from people here that have or continue to use it.

We are Vnet dealers. They're a mixed bag for us. On one hand, I love them. They have the cleanest touchscreen out of everyone as far as I'm concerned. It really pleases the designers and women-folk. Their software is easy to learn and a system is really easy to design and implement, as far as I'm concerned. Only the lighting design becomes a task, but it's that way with everyone.

The product has been VERY reliable for us. We get very few service calls, and when we do, it's usually something that was our fault. We've had 1 bad touchscreen out of dozens. No faulty switches out of hundreds.

You also get almost ZERO customization possibilities outside of a few backgrounds. The menus, icons, etc, are not changeable.

On the other hand, their prices are still very high, considering their opposition int he marketplace. Their touchscreens are the priciest 7" around, and although it's the nicest looking, it's a hard sell over a Crestron PTL4. They make it almost a necessity to go with an iPod as a music server. They still don't have doorbell as far as I know, which is ridiculous when they had it demo-ing at CEDIA almost a year ago. In my opinion, it feels like they could just disappear at any moment. Our sales rep was let go recently after being hired by Russound after the transition.

Also, as a retro system, it's a very difficult install. When you're designing from the studs up, its as easy as anyone. Going in after the fact = tons of drywall repair.
