I remember buying my first car stereo from them 22 years ago. They had small store on us 19 here in St. Petersburg before they moved to the big warehouse style store in the Tyrone area. It was true boutique store back then, lots high end gear I'd drool over. Course back then it was still funded with laundered money.
Still have an Adcom GFA I bought from the like 20 years ago. Old days when the stuff was made here in the states.(It made it through College with me) I know Adcom is still around but its not the same. As Stamp says someone bought for the name, keep waiting see iPod accessories and computer speakers.
Hope Sound Advice can make a come back.
