Just curious if anyone has joined ASID or is currently a member as a "industry parter" If so have you benefitted from it?

I was a member of asid in Chicago. My friend was on the board of directors and recommended me to join. I got more out of asid than I ever got put of cedia. Designers can be prissy( the women and gay guys).
Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"...

After 18 years of marriage my wife is not amused by my humor so I have to vent on RC and Teen Girls Gone Wild websites...

But seriously Sig. I would join ASID. The fake lisp they taught me has gotten me more work and my tantrums onsite always get payment in full at job completion :)

I think it would only be really useful if you use the membership to network locally.

There was an article covering this topic a year or 2 ago, might have been CEPro, but can't find it. It was basically a description of how to network with ASID and other local pros, IIRC. Host a short, monthly gathering to network.

Like CEDIA, unless you get involved, ASID doesn't seem to offer much more than a couple leads here and there.
