Hello, i'm new to this forum and i will be making the big purchase in the next few weeks of a remote control. I'm trying to decide between the NEVO S70, the Pronto 9600 or the 9800. They pretty much do all the same stuff but i was wondering which would be the better option programming wise since i will try to do it myself with the available ressources.

I have never used Nevos but just yesterday I did look into them and found out that the "2way" programming side of those remotes won't really required any coding so you can create your own drivers etc with their software. not sure weher their software is open to the public or not.

Pronto on the other hand has their software open to the public and any DIYers can get it working with a bit of perserveration and patience since it's always a learning curve. the 9800 doesn't really have more options to the 9600 apart of the bigger screen and the ethernet port at the back..

I will recommend pronto from personal experience and it's future proof looking at their coming products such as processor, inwalls etc..

ok thank you very much. Not an easy choice because from what i gather it seems a little bit easier to program the NEVOs but the Prontos seem to be a little more mature and a bigger community. I just don't want to end up with a great expensive remote that i can not make it do anything :-)

I would say get a pro but you do seem to be very keen on doing it yourself.. maybe best to look at both software provided with those remotes and also community support etc.. on RC pronto does have a bigger community support

do you know where i can find someone to help with installation/configuration of my 9600. I believe my ecf file was wiped off of the remote. It may be on the extender but I'm not sure. the remote is totally blank now and I cant figure out how to get it back.
