Just got them yesterday! I played a lot with the C3, I'm very disappointed by the computer interface... Seems like a poor harmony-like software, very basic (tooooo much basic), it's slow, you have to confirm every decisions you take by YES or NO, there is no way to turn the "assist" mode off, you cannot configure the screen buttons the way you want...

BUT: I have to say that the RF extender REX-433 is very reliable, very good range and very fast. Good point there.

I guess after a few inputs from their dealers and a few updates on the software, it will be a hard-to-beat remote.

Ummm, it is a very entry level remote, what were you expecting it to do? Perform better than the existing Nevos?

I agree. But you always need an entry level remote.

I don't use Nevo but I'm considering these remotes strictly from a price/margin standpoint. I always try to sell RTI but not every job can absorb a $900 remote (black and white!). I've never liked URC even though I haven't given the MX450 a shot yet. My only concern is when I install a C3 on a job and the customer really likes it in their living room and says, "lets put one in the master", I have to turn to them and say no because the RF base stations are not addressable. Not smart and seems like a real error in judgement on Nevo's part. I didn't mind harmony for single rooms as they could be programmed in ten minutes but once the dreaded "Zone 2" came into play, things would get hairy. I might give the C3 a shot.

As well as the IR ports are not routable, so you a basic IR repeater with a RF receiver instead of an IR receiver
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

I, for one, am disappointed that Nevo released such a half backed product as the C3 and C2. I wasn't wild about the URC MX-450 at first, but have learned from a recent client how far you can push this remote if you're willing to forgo a PC interface. When I discovered you can also avail your self to the IR database in CCP to help make better choices for MX-450 codes, I've made this my go to inexpensive IR/RF remote.

One of my distributors who dropped / was dropped by Harmony / URC has been hearalding this lower price point Nevo as the missing link. Low cost / IR/RF / graphics / PC for advanced functions.

I have been on the phone with tech support for 4 days to find out what they remote can / can't do.

First, I can't find an IR learning function from original remotes. I'll take anyone's help on this. If it turns out this is missing, Nevo has really missed the mark in my opionion.

So far, I haven't been able to post a Macro on the device key I want. It's assigned to the next available space. Plus, I haven't figured out how to move that key to another location to replace one I know longer need.

I could ramble on, but I feel had by my distributors, who I believe were sandbagged by Nevo. I was also told that the software for Nevo was different than the xSight sold at Fry's. They are not, as I bought one and returned it the same day. These remotes are 1-2 software releases away from comparable models. I'll take a properly programmed MX-350 / MX 450 over these any day.

Wow, How could you stay up for 4 whole days while on the phone with tech support? That's alot of time to be spending on a very entry level remote. I hope you are going to sell tons of them to make up for all that time spent on the phone trying to learn about them.

4 days on the phone and you couldn't find out something as basic as this? Were you on hold the whole time?

Good luck with that one.

What did you expect to get for what these things are selling for?

when I called nevo tech support about an unrelated issue, I asked the guy about the C2 and the C3 and he didnt know much about the remotes.  He didnt seem interested in them at all.  I guess that tells you something right there.  If the techs don't care about these POS's, why should we?

Funny thing is they are hanging on the wall at Best Buy with the AR logo on them over by the extra low cost cables. I wouldn't even touch one of these remotes. I agree with commonsense, the 450 is a much more powerful remote than previously thought. If I am going to use a remote in the price point, why not use one that has a proven track record and which can be programmed using a tried and true database working with already functioning RF base stations?

ive basically given up on nevo at this point,
seeing the current remotes they just released,
and their future road map . . i lost all faith in them.

these remotes are an insult to the CI community.
they are rebranded AR remotes that you will see in best buy.

you can use two in the same home . .

and they arent releasing anything new for at least a year,
and when they do, they are releasing nevo studio pro 3.0.
another software upgarde in a year.

if i leaned anything from vNet going under,
its - dont bank on these companies becoming something they arent yet.

urc mx450 is amazing low end remote.

besides that, the higher end urc has really been disappointing me.
RTI seems to be where its at.

im still looking at prodigy, waiting to see where it goes.

i just wish the ZPR-6 was available now!

While reading your reply to this fellows post it occurs to me that he isn't getting any help from you at all. I'm fairly sure that if he was looking for some new material for his stand up routine he wouldn't look here. If you just want to comment on funny little posts and show us all how witty you are....maybe you might like Facebook. Oh and they have cute little pictures too.

It's funny to read back this almost 2-years-old post of mine. C3 & C2 are really the worst crap ever produced by a remote manufacturer...

I agree with motech, it has been an insult...

I guess I was a bit too happy to get a new product to play with the day I wrote this...

Sorry for this one, guys...
