Please, I need to see that picture and I can't navigate that dyslexic html nightmare to save my life...could you provide a link?
Forgive me if someone has already attempted this, but...
Actually I implemented Wesley's wiring standard in the construction of my own home and so far have been very pleased. Except I made some improvements to his idea. Because construction spanned several years I found myself exponentially adding the latest wires and cables to keep up with future needs, and because when I started pulling wire I found myself drilling hole after hole and notching vital structural supports to the point where I ended up ditching conventional framing all together. I just started weaving every wall and floor from the very cables themselves. Think about it, its genius, I can add any component to any point on any wall, ceiling or floor in the entire house with ease. I covered all of my bases (past, present and future) by installing every known wire from ol' Knob and Tube to Cat8 to Molten Tiberium Plasma Conduit. I'm like a freaking blue jay weaving what I believe to be the most HA-Ready home on the planet. Alas, I don't have any money left for the actual HA, but boy am I ever ready.
Update: I am currently weaving a second story.

I haven't been to Wesley's web site since the original post but just found this over there. [Link: digilifellc.com] The Crestron-killer lives! By Wesley Mullings | January 6, 2006
I found a local computer company that is experienced enough to work with on this HTPC network. I still haven’t named it. All subsystems for the design are completed and will probably blow the doors off of a Crestron or AMX system! I intend to pitch this to Home Controls to offer this as a solution for those dealers that cannot create a relationship with Crestron or other controller manufacturers because of the initial buy-in. We have agreed that the eventual goal is to franchise this opportunity to VARs at large as a total home automation solution. Our first offering will be as a second-string solution for the HA-Ready design service, served by the ConnectHome family.
Topics: ZION, HA-Ready
Does Alan know about this?? Or this, CableCard shows promise for the HTPC network By Wesley Mullings | March 6, 2006
I just read a very interesting interview from one of Microsoft’s decision-makers about the CableCard deal here. Being that the HTPC network will be poised and manufactured as a ‘new’ OEM device, we are targeting the “digital cable-ready” feature to be included into the design as soon as it is available.
On another note, we are checking out what Apple is doing as well. We realize there is a large Apple following that would want this solution in an Apple format. Even though Mac mini is available, Apple has quite a way to go, as does Microsoft, with what things would be sought and required for solution within a home automation context. Both companies would have to subscribe to the home automation channel in order to come up with the right answer.
The guy sure knows his future-proofing.

That thread is like a really bad case of Herpes... It just pops up now and again when you least expect it, and it is more annoying than before!

Any updates on this :-)?
Now that Wesley conquered the world with his structured wiring system, how is his new "Crestron Killer" moving ahead (see post at the top of this page)?
