You know, sometimes great minds are not appreciated in their day. I just reread the first several pages of this thread, and (after laughing hilariously) came to the conclusion that Wesley was a man ahead of his time. It just took me a few years to see it. The mans a fricken genius.

In fact, I read that Best Buy Magnolia is embracing his standard. Any Architect or Builder can obtain the standard from Best Buy and use the standard for free so that they don't need an Integrator at all. Just as long as they use Best Buy appliances in the home. I read that Wesley is retiring, having sold his standard for $10,000,000.

However, like most geniuses it's not the money that drives Wesley and he's not one to rest on his laurels. He's announced his next project is developing a standard for the computing industry so that any business can write their own software without the need for software companies. Wesley is eagerly waiting for the response from software companies who he is hoping will embrace his standard. He has posted a thread at computing.net called "I NEED EVERY SOFTWARE DESIGNERS ATTENTION INCLUDING YOU BILL GATES".

Apparently Wesley has now finalised the design after all of your feedback, and is pretty confident that it will now cope with just about any signal type.

The new standard is a 8" duct and a draw cord......;-)

I see this thread started in 2003. That blog post linked to above is from November 2006 and says "As long as HA-Ready becomes the key word that it must be, I don’t mind being the scapegoat for its existence sake."

It looks like he's following your advice AHEM. Wesley is staying the course.

Simon, do you take it back yet? I say this thread is a timeless classic that should never die (as long as it only gets bumped every month or two). It's the one thing that brings us all together in "united mockery", right winger Ed and left winger Alan, trunk slammers and showroom owners alike.
