I think I'm going to be sick!!

I Hope this was a "Big Box Store" install. What an embarrassment to our industry. Its people like this that give us good company's a bad rep and nickel and dime us.

Sadly - NOT a big box install, just another local 'specialty' retailer.

Mind you, this is also from a company that nails an advertisement to every phone pole within a 3 block radius of a high-end neighborhood.

And I thought the same thing about the speaker hole! You've just cut a huge access point to get the cables to the TV... why not use it?????

There is an access hole cut for the left hand speaker which also could have been used.
Probably would have been quicker and easier to use the speaker holes than glue the wires to the ceiling too!
Wireless speakers? Of course Sir. Choose the colour and size you like. As you don't seem to think sound quality is important, I will not plug them in.

honestly, that last shot looks like the wires were put there in anticipation of crown molding installation.
I'm Not an engineer, but I play one on TV.
My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird.

I posted this a while ago. Maybe this method pre-dates my time in the industry.

Didn't get the job because client wanted a fixed rate to fix everything...

So what's wrong with quoting him 10K for labor, plus parts, and giving him a refund at the end of project?

Call him and ask him if he got anyone to bite, and if not, explain to him that you want to work with him, but you can't guarantee anything other than it won't take over 100hours, or whatever.

Not quite our industry and sad i never got a photo, but I did once a satellite cable installed that was joined by twisting the cores together and held in place with good old fashioned sellotape.

But it was indoors so it didn't really need any more than that, did it?

What atrocities! Now, if it was electrical tape, that would be totally acceptable. Such product is meant for covering exposed wires and black matches the cable sheeting. :-)

... with zip wire in wire mold and draped around the radiator across the floor.
The rack is a rat's nest too.

Never underestimate the homeowner and the facts they leave out...

More than half the time I fix things like this I find out in the end they were trying to do it themselves or they have a brother-in-law or friend that "knew how to do it".

"I uhhh, hired a guy and then he just stopped showing up"

Sure you did - red flag jobs.
