Its pretty sad that a PRO2/PVID/BIPAD8/XM tuner/FM tuner got replaced with C4. I could have rocked their world with that gear :).

Gear is gear.

You should have seen the media panel wall (behind this rack,) and the actual inside of the rack. They used a 66 phone block for Crestnet distribution.

Also notice the thousands of dollars worth of Monster interconnects.

When i look at that creston gear i think "an hour of rewiring and a few engraved buttons and this clients frown gets turned upside down".

If you skip everything else and jump right to the labels... Why the heck didnt they get a pair of freaking scissors and trim the labels so that they are not larger than the buttons?

I posted these beauties a while back in the "What did you do today" forum.

These are from a site survey - I was asked to come in a clean up a "few things"!!

Ugh. Weep away my friends... as I said before, I guess I need not worry too much about this 'competitor' of mine!

It sucks to lose a project but im sure your level of disappointment is much less than it would be if you had agreed to a fixed bid for cleaning that mess up and found yourself working for free.

The guy will end up with someone who will say yes to the fixed bid and he will either get a surprise invoice at the end or find that the cleanup isn't much better than the initial installation.

Any idea if he found someone else? I will bet that the other companies portfolio doesnt look as nice as yours.

I don't think I could make it look that bad if I tried to! And I'm not a wire management pro either.

The part that kills me is that there is a ceiling speaker located extremely close to the locations were the "wires" EXPLODE out of the wall??!!

Ceiling speaker=access hole to perform miracles!!
