You're telling me that those little tiny board relay contacts
are rated 10amps @ 240VAC?

Damn, not bad.

I've used various "kits" from Carl's Electronics and they are all great. They're fun to put together, they're cheap and they work very well. When you look at electronics on a component level, they are, for the most part, very, very cheap.

Take for example, embedded electronics. I can, with a bit of code, add a micro controller with GPIO, PMW and serial intreface (that can then run wirelessly via Xbee or Bluetooth) for penny's on the dollar compared to a canned solution (a la Ocelot). These low power bad boys can do a great deal meaning you get WAY more bang for your buck.

The boards in Jims follow up are designed for HVAC installations.
I have also used them lighting.

I have used about 50 of these units (in several CES showcars)
controlled by both crestron and App. Dig.
For the price these are GREAT.
Simple to code and can be daisy chained.

ok, ok, I'll give it some serious thought. :)

What is "App. Dig."?

Brent,
I just looked at that site and didn't find anything called App. Dig. What should I be clicking on to find it?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Ernie:
App Dig (short for Applied Digital) is their web site.
Their controllers, relays and I/O products work great for basic integration (TP on the other hand ain't so good).

Anyone ever use either of these?

One of my distributors doesn't have the xantech CC62. Special order only. Another distributor doesn't carry xantech so i thought i would see what else is available before i order 2 CC12's.

Application. Independent control of bottom and top masking panels. (up/down/stop) I also have side panels (up/down). Prodigy PMC2+. I may use one of the NO relays from the PMC2+ to handle the side masking panels.

I'm still not sure why I did this, but I once bought a Radio Shack IR remoteable antenna A/B switch, removed the IR receiving circuitry, and used it to control a couple of Niles speaker switches.

The client has a jacked up living room/projection screen setup with the couches at right angles to the screen. The A/B switches set the front and rear speakers properly for TV and DVD, but allow the room to be "rotated" for music so left and right are properly oriented to the couches.

Anyway, it could have been a CC12, but the Radio Shack thing still works five years on now.
