they are rackmount clients and a 4tb server with no onboard zones. The d5 has all 5 zones.

I'd love to play around with the Xperinet stuff if anyone has some that they want to get rid of relatively cheap.

If you have no experience with Xperinet I would not recommend it as there are some serious issue that you need to know how to deal with, the biggest one is that there is absolutely no support of any kind and you have to know where to get the 4.0 software upgrade and how to install it, and how to deal with the decripter, how to get the clients and the server to be friends and so forth. Further, there are no spare parts like video cards, the software is written to use only the parts that are installed and nothing else. Now on the other hand, if you buy a complete working system, it may give you years of good service

Just go to MythTV.org, it's the same thing.. Xperinet is based on Myth TV but that’s all, there are some differences, I know this because I have been working with one of the engineers and he says that some significant changes were made to the software. I have been trying to figure out how to get around these changes so that we can use different video cards and upgraded Decryptors. Wherefore you will be able to load discs like the "Dark Night" which use the new Encryption methods. However, you can download myth TV for free and build your own system from scratch; I recommend you actually start here [Link: revision3.com] and watch the video

I was actually hoping to get a hold of the Xperinet guys here locally, they were out of Annapolis, MD, and see what I could do. But I wanted to get ahold of the hardware first. And before anyone says anything yes I know that they went out of business. But I do have a contact that can put me in touch with a couple of guys from Xperinet.
