Very nice theater room dude! I love the seats as well and applaud you for going 5 abreast! I cannot stand theater rooms that do not have a seat smack in the middle!

I put the finishing touches on a Planar Mosaic display wall this afternoon.  The display is a 3x3 configuration that consists of nine 20" x 20" modules that mimics the client's logo.

Planar flew some guys out to help with the install so I was only responsible for layout, wiring and mounting the power supply & source gear... They physically installed the displays and did the configuration & calibration.

Neat product and well designed.  I automated the power by connecting to a relay output on the security panel so the display wall turns on when the security system is disarmed and powers off when the security system is armed.

This is a brand new office, so still have conference room, networking, some low voltage wiring and mounting about 10 TVs.

The display wall is in the lobby and there will be a receptionist desk in front of it.

Here's a video from the phone...

Stortch you have absolutely no reason to defend your choices. That work is stellar and the room most likely sounds amazing.

We all have our preferences when it comes to this world and you make those that fit your model. Run with it.

Can you tell me why you didn't go with Cinematech ARS? Just curious since you used their seats.

Thanks, longshot. We used Kinetics (which we're really happy with) because ARS did not seem as willing (then, I have since discussed this further and they are more willing now) to send us the parts and let us install in-house.

We cut all of the track, glued all of the core and stretched all of the fabric ourselves for 2 reasons: 1 we like to consider ourselves craftsmen and are up to the challenge and, 2 we could bill at our labor rate to install.

Also, when I originally quoted this room, I gave the owner 2 options: one was basic Kinetics glue on panels (e.g. 4' by 8') with a better option for full stretch wall (which, obviously he chose) and the story was easier to tell using one vendor.

Awesome work!
I was like whey the heck did he put an Epson 5020 in there but after looking at everything else that went in there, I figured it was the bang for the buck factor.
Really makes sense to focus on the complete package rather than just the core items.
I'm the same way with automation and luckily so are all my customers.

We just finished a Cinematech install. The product is phenomenal and the the installer is great too. The process however is a bit to salesy for my taste.

Don't get it wrong I am 100% all automation Crestron Crestron Crestron but I never judge if the system works.

I will say Storch we have benchmarked your work heavily and are always impressed.

Now go sale Crestron, joking.

Hey Storch,
What are those power center-looking units with the orange toggles on them? Are those some sort of power centers with individual outlets that can be power cycled with their corresponding toggle switch? i.e. cables boxes and such?

It does seem like nice work. How bout some behind the rack pics?
how in the hell does ernie make money?

Is that your photography?

Nice job and nice photos!

Did you do A/V only or did you do some lighting etc too?

We didn't specify light fixtures but weighed in on all aspects of the theater room. The designer brought us in on this job so what he said was law. He was super talented.

Whole house control for every sub system including lights.

Photos are From my admin/ soon to be programmer. She is super talented and I never knew.
