Sliced my had wide open doing this once. All the way to the bone. Gives me chills just thinking about it. Sometimes, If you need it done and stay on schedule, you just have to get it done.

For the sake of safety, I took some of the budgeted $300 for the glass remover guy and bought some safety glasses, hard hat, nice leatther gloves, and other miscellaneous stuff.  I wore 3 shirts + my good luck mudhens jacket (long sleeves).

I was seriously nervous about this.  I'm not particularly "Mr. Safety".  I was today.

Climbed up on the roof today so I could move the DTV dish to a new location (it was tending to move in the old location).

Not my favorite place to be these days (age, ailments, and whatnot).

Yeah, I tried it on the way home and it worked like you said. Not sure why I had trouble yesterday. I sure it was just user error.

Did a small install for a friend of mine today.  This job kept me up last night tossing and turning.  I'd never removed a mirror this size from a wall, especially by myself.   As you can see, I taped the mirror, tarped the floor and went to town with a pry bar.  I had it down in about an hour, cleaned up, broken into pieces and loaded in the back of the van.   I've hired this out a few times in the past, to the tune of $300 each time.  They called me last night at about 8pm and said they couldn't make it...I didn't want to reschedule so I did it myself.

Drywall repair and paint the next couple of days, then a Episode Soundbar going under the TV.

Looks good for a fireplace install (I hate fireplace TV installs honestly). I think the TV would look better with the mirror still there behind it. Just cut out a section for the mount to go, and put the TV in front of the mirror. If they did not like the mirror, then obviously it needed to go though. Cutting them is not too terribly hard....but I would definitely sub it out. :)

We did a job where the client had a mirror brought in that must be 24' tall and 9' wide. The decorative frame was probably another 10" all the way around. It sits, leaning against a wall on the floor. I could not believe it. I am sure it will never budge....but still....just leaning against the wall? The thing must weigh half a ton.

You're obviously a pimp.

Funny, I was visiting and they started asking questions about TVs and home theaters...His wife was only half listening until I said, "take the mirror down and put the tv above the fireplace".  Deal closed.  I had no idea, but she's hated the mirror since they moved in a decade ago.

I kinda busted his balls a little...teasing him that he's not much of a man if he can't figure out how to take a mirror down.  Dumbass thought there would only be 2x4's on the wall if he took the mirror down.

And that's why we get paid.

I replaced the motor on my pool pump, one of the easiest things I have ever done. Only thing that sucked was the old motor was 15a but the new one is 20 so i had to re-wire everything and swap breakers. new pump was $898..Hell No! replaced the motor for $239 + $25 bucks in electrical parts, seals etc.

Did 4 consultations, placed orders totaling 20k with all of the venders for 3 up and coming projects. had to take the MINI into the shop because of a strange noise coming from my back left tire, Gave me a loaner 20 minutes later they called and said the TPMS shattered into 8 pieces. Weird thing was it was still transmitting a signal so nothing showed up in the dash. Service guy said he's never seen anything like it. Stupid ass TPMS....

All in all a good day!

ha, dont get me started on that. I rotated my van tires and i could never get it reset, did the sequence and everything 3 or 4 times. Finally took it into the dealer and they just reset it through the computer. lived with the stupid light for 6 months lol! had the same issue with my first mini and in my turd of a Sierra the TPMS system went to shit twice.

They are really freaking annoying, all because people are to god damned lazy to check the pressure.

lol! and after all the trouble they give, it ends up taking more time than actually just checking the pressure every once in a while

Been working really long hours trying to design systems and get bids out of the door. Today I walked all over our store looking for my phone while i was talking on it with a customer. I just couldn't find that thing. Time to take a nap.

I feel your pain. I have been doing nothing but quotes and ordering stuff the last few weeks. I honestly have taken on too many projects. I need to organize things today to get a grip on my schedule for the next month. I never thought I would ever get busy like this.

I am at the point where growth may be unavoidable. I am trying to stay lean but I also don't want to loose good jobs because I cant meet timing.

What I wont do is fail to complete the projects I have. I hope things stay steady but it is crazy.

Oh yeah. I installed some outdoor speakers at my in-laws house today in Chicago.

That lead to beer and BBQ. Good day if you ask me.

We actually came here to recharge and organize things.
