I was having problems with the 1280 disconnecting until I configured DHCP reservation and it has been solid for a few weeks now. The same goes for everything on the network, this seems to be a winning match. Bummer about the battery though.

The WAP in the Rack location is just because it covers the general area around it nicely. It is not a large coverage area and that location was easiest to accomodate a WAP. The rack in front is not ideal but has not presented any issues.

No parts necessary for HomeWorks integration. It's done over IP and of course the QS processors have ethernet built in. We are using the V1 RadioRa2 module. We tried V2 but since the modules are technically for Ra2 and not HomeWorks, there seemed to be a compatibility issue. I never did confirm why V2 didn't work but V1 works fine. It works nicely but you do have some limitations graphically since the whole module is basically locked down once you enter the parameters.

I should have mentioned that even though there is security, we are not actually integrating with it.

Yeah, I am pretty sure HAI is the only Security product able to 2way communicate with TC. Great job on the install and thanks for answering my questions.

Went in for a repair call for someone who's onkyo wasn't sending any video....
Played with it for 15 mins then decided to pull the whole surge protector from the outlet and reset. Boom picture.

Easiest repair call ever and now we are saddling up for a clean up job of what the last guy left behind and some new outdoor speakers. Good day.

Always (let me repeat that), Always pull power to any HDMI product (for at least 15 mins) if there is an issue like this.
It is also a damn good idea to disconnect power from Samsung displays when hooking up HDMI.

You want to do a full board discharge from any and all currnt sources (disconnect coax and network cables as well), less time may/maynot work.

Onkyo and HDMI no worries at all there. Never heard of anyone having a failed HDMI board in their products........

Well before I left we did a walkthrough and exchanged ideas (he just came home from Afghanistan ((LT. Commander)) and is planning a remodel).

I'm giving him a few days to think things over and Wednesday i'm heading back over to give some estimates. Really cool dude and looks like he will be a great referral source. This is why I love small jobs and repair jobs.

Get rid of the Onkyo. Sell him a Yamaha or something reliable. If you unplug an onkyo while it is powered on, it will a lot of times reset and give you picture. Make sure you do updates via usb only. Also, a hard reset may be necessary. Typically the AUx HDMI will still work if you need to just get the customer through a weekend.

Nah its fine, its one of the best that Onkyo makes (I know that isn't saying much). Apparently the reason it happened was because his son had just had a sleepover and they were hotswapping the hell out of these game systems and it eventually froze. So now they all have their input and all is good
