Thursday I worked outside all day right on the coast. Pulled 772' of 14/2 speaker wire and 192' of CAT5 through conduit for 4 zones of outdoor audio and pool integration & outdoor wifi. One zone of the audio is two Clark Synthesis under water speakers in the pool and the other three zones are outdoor speakers. All are connected to Sonos Connects and run through Niles amplifiers for power. Pool integration was Pentair IntelliTouch with Screenlogic2 for iPhone/iPad control of the pool/spa functions and outdoor lighting. Outdoor wifi is Ubiquiti gear. Took a few pictures of the pool equip, but didn't even snap a photo of the pool itself :(

I've been painting a crapload of speakers lately and have at least 30 pairs coming up for jobs in the next couple months so I bought a new HVLP spray setup. Have already used it to spray speakers for 3 jobs and getting great results. Painted these yesterday: These were painted and installed last week. First job to use Episode speakers (700 Series). This job had speakers in 7 rooms and had to spray 6 different colors so the paint work took some time. This room has a blue ceiling that looks good in person.

Nice. What did the package cost you? It was just under $600. I've used my shop compressor and spray gun in the past, but this is small enough to be portable and take to the jobsite if necessary.

It will shoot almost anything, but is limited to small detail work because of the small cup size which doesn't hold much paint.
I've been spraying speakers using latex samples from the client and then diluting with distilled water and adding some Floetrol additive to help the paint lay down better.
This setup would work to paint car parts (but not ideal to paint a whole car) and would also work great for spraying finishes on cabinets, doors or almost anything else small that needs a high quality finish.
It won't work well to stain your deck, fence or paint the walls or exterior of a house. The sprayer and turbine can handle the paint, but you'd go mad refilling the spraygun.

I am currently trying to dismantle this disaster so we can put it back together in a proper fashion [IMG] [/IMG] [IMG] [/IMG] I think this is my penance for getting off jury duty last week.

Is that mess in someones house or is it a commerical type thing? WOW, I can't believe someone did that and got paid for that mess. It looks fairly clean (dust/dirt) and new.

Been in about 3 years. We inheritted it after they realized the original company didnt know what they were doing. I have patched it together and kept it limping for that long because they didnt want to pay to have it redone. Finally a deal was negotiated and I get to be the lucky one to try to clean it up.

Those are the types of systems that if you look at them sideways something stops working.

We took possession today of unit #1 of Avocation System's new 8x8 HDMI matrix switch. It was nice to have Trent drop it off and stick around to watch a couple of monkeys complete enough set up to test it and it worked really well. Well enough to cut a check for a second unit. Looking forward to putting it through it's paces in the week to come. Doesn't hurt that it's fit and finish are top notch either. Thanks, Trent!

Started a Crestron takeover job today. It's in a crawlspace. A larger crawlspace, but still a crawlspace. Dust, dirt, and insects everywhere. Just thought to take a picture after a few pieces had been removed from the existing rack. It's been here for several years, can't believe it still works. Well, mostly.
