Sat through the SpeakerCraft NIRV certification program so in the morning I can go rip out a URC Total Control System and install a NIRV system.

Should be interesting. Will be 2 surround zones, 8 video zones, and 20 audio zones with 14 sources feeding everything

You trust Nirv already enough to rip out a brand new system?

considering that all the parts for a total control system aren't available yet, i can see why he is doing that.

Bought Tickets to see NOFX at the Fillmore in SF next month. Bought Tickets for my brother and his girl as well as xmas gift. Can't Wait!

They are doing a show right after the new year in Santa Cruz at a fairly small club/bar/venue that I enjoy, plus No Use For A Name will be at that show as well. Might be picking up tickets for that show as well.

Not really, Just doing as told. Biggest probem with the TC system is they keep delaying the keypads, and snp1. Then they ship us keypads (not enough by the way) but tell us they will probably lock up the system and cause problems if we install them.

I will say that the nirv system is pretty slick as long as you don't try to take the ball out of the sandbox, which is probably a good fit for most of our clients.

Wednesday I was at a property where I rebuild the rack & theater back in March as well as reworked some TVs and expanded the control.  Stopped by to do a quick service call and meet about doing more upgrades and expansion of the distributed audio.

Asked if I could bring my camera gear to get some better photos.

Here's the original post from when I did the theater & rack: [Link: remotecentral.com]

Ah............I just fixed a 12-15new year old system with the worst wiring job I have ever seen. Solid core wire instead of strands for dist audio and surround zone.

The icing on the cake was the fu#%ing Harmony remotes. Was up front with the client and told him I would try to make it work with no guarantees.

Get to take a Mx 780 and 260 back tomorrow to make the system actually work.

It looks like there are 2 sets of surround speakers, in addition to rear surrounds? How are you dealing with the timing and amplification for that?
The less I say, the smarter I will appear

Thanks... I not completely satisfied with the theater photos.  The wall color looks kind of yellow/cream in the photos and is much lighter in real life.

It's a dark room so was difficult to photograph.  Might take another shot at processing these images when I have more time.
